I am an Assistant Professor of Environmental Humanities and Social Sciences in the Department of Environmental Studies at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. I am also affiliated with Susanne Freidberg’s lab within the Department of Geography at Dartmouth College, where I am continuing work I began as a postdoctoral fellow on our collaborative research project that examines the diverse socio-technical visions of regenerative agriculture in the United States.
Broadly (and briefly) speaking, I am trained as an environmental sociologist and critical human geographer. However, I practice deep interdisciplinarity across food and environmental policy, environmental humanities, science + technology studies, and critical food studies. Threaded throughout my work is an abiding interest in how emergent discourses, imaginaries, and technologies shape the conditions of possibility for meaningful health, environmental, and food justice.
In addition to a PhD in Sociology from UC Santa Cruz, I also hold a JD from the University of Wisconsin Law School where I concentrated in International and Environmental Law.
